Methods
I specialize in utilizing evidence-based techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to facilitate profound transformation and healing. I am IFS Level 1 trained and EMDR certified. Continue reading for more details on these therapeutic methods.

EMDR
EMDR is a therapy where you focus on a difficult memory while also doing something that stimulates both sides of your brain, like following a moving finger with your eyes. This helps make the memory less upsetting. It’s a well-researched therapy that’s been shown to be helpful for trauma and PTSD. It’s also been found to be useful for other problems like anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, and addiction. Some studies even suggest it’s more effective than certain medications for treating trauma. EMDR therapists all over the world have used it to help millions of people.
With EMDR therapy, you don’t have to talk a lot about your problems or traumatic events nor does it require homework outside of sessions. Instead of trying to change your feelings or thoughts about a tough issue, EMDR helps your brain naturally heal from it. It targets memories that haven’t been processed properly, often needing fewer sessions than other therapies.

IFS
IFS is a transformative approach that views each individual as a complex system comprised of protective and wounded inner components, guided by a central Self. This perspective acknowledges the inherent multiplicity of the mind, which is similar to the dynamics within a family. Inner parts often assume extreme roles, straying from their inherent value. However, the Self remains undamaged and possesses innate healing abilities.
IFS is frequently used as an evidence-based psychotherapy, and is a proven way to heal by addressing and healing different parts of yourself. An easy way to picture this is Riley’s parts in the movies, “Inside Out” and “Inside Out 2.” IFS helps you connect with your core Self and then understand and heal these parts, both inside and out. Similar to EMDR, IFS utilizes your Self to tap into your innate ability to bring healing to your parts.

Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
- Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
- Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.
