IFS

What is IFS?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a transformative approach that views each individual as a complex system comprised of protective and wounded inner components, guided by a central Self. This perspective acknowledges the inherent multiplicity of the mind, which is similar to the dynamics within a family. Inner parts often assume extreme roles, straying from their inherent value. However, the Self remains undamaged and possesses innate healing abilities.

IFS is frequently used as an evidence-based psychotherapy, and is a proven way to heal by addressing and healing different parts of yourself. An easy way to picture this is Riley’s parts in the movies, “Inside Out” and “Inside Out 2.” IFS helps you connect with your core Self and then understand and heal these parts, both inside and out. Similar to EMDR, IFS utilizes your Self to tap into your innate ability to bring healing to your parts.
